VA Acting Secretary Todd Hunter emailed all VA employees on Feb. 3 saying the department would honor an offer for federal workers to be paid through September if they submit a "deferred resignation" by a
Feb. 6 deadline. But the same day, a senator warned no federal funding has been authorized by Congress to actually pay for such resignations, and the government could not guarantee employees who take the deal would actually be paid. VA staff who opt out of the buyout will be expected to return to in-person work full time, and may be subject to downsizing.

Doug Collins, an Air Force reserve chaplain and former GOP congressman, was easily confirmed in a 77-23 vote Tuesday to be the next VA secretary. Collins will now take over leadership of the VA at a time when it is dealing with budget woes brought on by the

"I cannot say enough positive things about Woods & Woods. They really do care and it shows. They kept me updated regularly throughout the process. They were able to obtain benefits that I had tried to claim on my own and was denied. If could give more than five stars, I'd give 10!"
