Veterans with constrictive bronchiolitis, or CB, could have an easier time collecting VA disability benefits under proposed changes. The ailment is one of the burn pit-related illnesses covered under the PACT
Act. Although the PACT Act aims to make it easier for vets with certain diseases linked to toxic exposure to get VA care and benefits, veterans with CB have reported they continue facing unique challenges to getting their benefits approved by the VA. Now, the department is taking steps to remove the roadblocks veterans with CB face when applying for benefits.

Lawmakers rush to pass VA funding |
Lawmakers are optimistic they will pass a quick fix to the VA funding shortfall before a looming Friday budget deadline. However, a resolution isn't expected until just a few hours before that cutoff. VA leaders have said because of increased benefits
payouts and medical care enrollments this year, their accounts are about $2.9 billion short of what’s needed to keep normal operations continuing. If money is not provided by Sept. 20, they warned, some benefits checks due next month may be delayed by days or weeks.

Jon Stewart presses for a breakthrough to get the first 9/11 troops full care |
The first U.S. troops to deploy after the Sept. 11 attacks are suffering from radiation exposure that the government has yet to officially recognize 23 years later. They are a group of 9/11 service members that comedian Jon Stewart, a champion for first
responders, can't leave behind. More than 15,000 U.S. troops deployed to Karshi-Khanabad, known as K2, after operations in Uzbekistan began in October 2001. In the years since, thousands of K2 veterans have reported cancers, kidney problems, and other medical conditions, some of which are known to be connected to radiation exposure.

How the VA rates Reactive Airway Disease |
Reactive Airway Disease (RAD) is a generic term experts use to describe various respiratory illnesses. It’s essentially a respiratory condition where the bronchial tubes in the lungs overreact to an irritant. Those irritants may include smoke, gasses, pet
dander, mold, or mildew. If you were exposed to irritants like smoke, fumes, or sandstorms during your military service and now have problems breathing, you may qualify for a RAD VA rating.
