Veterans get faster access to residential treatment

The VA is working to get veterans faster and simpler access to its mental health residential rehabilitation programs (RRTPs) through a new, more centralized screening process. RRTPs provide around-the-clock support for substance use disorders, PTSD, depression, and other mental health conditions. More than 27,000 veterans were treated at RRTPs in fiscal year 2024, and the VA has the bed capacity to serve even more.

If you have a disability as a result of your military service, you deserve VA compensation in the full amount owed to you. The VA disability process is complex and not fully understanding it can result in the unfortunate loss of some compensation. The VA intent to file form can help you get up to a year of additional back pay as you gather information and file your VA disability claim.
