House Republicans unveiled plans for a $453 billion VA budget next fiscal year. The appropriations bill represents an $83 billion, or 22%, boost from Congress’ approved spending plan for VA in fiscal 2025. However, nearly all of that boost is tied up in mandatory funding related to medical programs and veterans payouts. Discretionary funding for new programs and support services would rise about 4%. |

Study finds veterans with mental health conditions face challenges getting care outside VA |
According to new research, veterans with mental health disorders consistently rated their experiences with private care as less satisfactory than those without a mental health condition. The finding indicates a need for better care coordination by the VA. While the study didn't show a causal relationship between having a mental health condition and dissatisfaction with private care, it did demonstrate the challenges vulnerable veterans face when navigating care provided outside of the VA. |

What 'D-Day' actually stands for |
The magnitude of D-Day is plain for everyone to see: 150,000 Allied service personnel participated, 4,415 Allied troops were killed, and 12 countries were part of the invasion. But pinning down the name's origin has proved difficult for many military historians and observers. Some have asserted the June 6, 1944, amphibious assault’s name is short for "Decision Day" or "Designated Day," while others have surmised it stands for "Deliverance Day" or have gone a darker route to "Doomsday" or "Death Day.” |

How to Strengthen Your Mental Health VA Claim |
"I recommend Woods & Woods for your veterans claim needs. After going through what I would call the normal procedure, I had very little/no success. With Woods & Woods, I was able to obtain a 100% total and permanent disability rating. Highly recommend."
