250,000 VA patients at risk of receiving wrong medication
Due to issues with the VA’s new electronic health records system, about 250,000 veterans may be at risk of being prescribed medicine they are allergic to or that would interact poorly with their existing medications. A VA official stressed that the
department has not found any instances of patients being harmed by drug interactions specifically caused by the data issues. However, at least one veteran wasn't given the critical medication they were prescribed because their records were incorrect, and the VA has not adequately notified patients their prescription records may be wrong.

How TBI VA ratings are decided
What is a TBI? A traumatic brain injury results from a blow or bump to the head, a severe jolt of your body, or something penetrating your skull. The trauma doesn’t just break the bones of your skull, it also affects your brain functions. TBIs can cause
significant impairment to a person’s mental, physical, and emotional health during military service and well beyond. How TBI VA ratings are decided is relatively complex, but you could get anywhere from a 0% to 100% disability rating if you experienced one.
