According to a report from the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization, veterans who were fired from the federal workforce in the recent wave of job cuts called their dismissals a betrayal of their service. In its release, the DAV said its "Protect
Veterans" campaign to solicit comments from fired veterans came from bipartisan suggestions at a joint hearing of the House and Senate Veterans Affairs Committees last month to bring them examples of veterans who have been adversely affected by the job cuts.
