VA's $325 billion budget proposal includes funding for toxic exposure benefits, new medical facilities

The VA would see a 5% increase in its budget for fiscal 2024 under President Joe Biden's plan. Most of the increase comes from the cost of new benefits for toxic exposure extended by the PACT Act. Over $20 billion of the proposed budget would be used for growth in funding for health care and benefits for veterans eligible under the PACT Act. Priorities listed in the budget include suicide prevention and mental health, women's health care, medical care, upgrades to medical facilities, veteran homelessness, and cancer research and care.
