VA adds cancers as presumptive for service connection


The VA announced Wednesday it is making acute and chronic leukemias, multiple myelomas, myelodysplastic syndromes, myelofibrosis, urinary bladder, ureter, and related genitourinary cancers presumptive conditions for service connection for Gulf War and Post 9/11 veterans. The VA is encouraging veterans with these conditions to apply for benefits, and for eligible vets with previously denied claims to reapply.

GI Bill changes mean 12 extra months of college benefits for some vets

Veterans who served at least two separate periods of service in the military, each meeting standards for either the Post-9/11 GI Bill or Montgomery GI Bill programs, can now receive 12 extra months of education benefits.
